PRESCHOOLERS WITH ADHD
SERVICES AVAILABLE IN SINGAPORE
There is a lack of specific services for young children with ADHD in Singapore. Experts on the ground have highlighted there are no specific intervention services for children who are diagnosed with ADHD every year at the Child Development Units (CDUs) (Ministry of Social and Family Development, n.d.).
Nonetheless, there are generic early intervention services and programmes that have benefitted educators, parents and young children with ADHD.
Currently, the following services available in Singapore are summarized as follow:
(KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital 2010; Ministry of Social and Family Development, 2016, n.d.; Wee, n.d.)
Information was also gathered from practitioners in the video titled ‘Context of EI for Young Children in Singapore’.
Please note that due to a lack of research on EI services in Singapore, the above list is based on interviews with practitioners and newspaper articles and may not be exhaustive.
